The Unfolding Lamp was originally made in metal by Geoffrey Bawa, most likely an adaptation of a paper lantern he acquired from Harrods, London, in the 1960s. A version of the lamp in a clear finish can be seen in the guest suite at Number 11. A blue version sits on the front terrace at Lunuganga.
Phantom Hands has re-interpreted this lamp in teakwood as a special edition, with the delicately laser-cut wooden panels hand-stitched together, using embroidery techniques by our skilled artisans. The special edition in wood showcases the craftsmanship and material explorations of our R&D team.
The lamp comes with a 7W LED bulb and an e27 bulb holder.

Protect Your Purchase: A Note on Authenticity
Please be aware of unauthorized imitations of our products circulating globally, both online and through various physical retailers — some even misusing the Phantom Hand brand name. Although a lower price may be tempting, counterfeit products are poor investments; unlike authentic design pieces, their resale value drops to zero the moment they are purchased.
When you buy a knockoff, you are the primary victim. You are paying for a worthless product that lacks the structural integrity, safety certifications, and longevity of an original. Furthermore, counterfeits directly deprive designers of their rightful royalties. Choosing authentic Phantom Hand products ensures that the creative minds behind these icons are fairly compensated for their work and that their legacies are preserved.
